Wastes Management

At the Port of Sines the rendering of waste management services is currently concessioned to ECOSLOPS PORTUGAL S.A.

The concession granted establishes the rendering of services concerning waste collection on vessels calling the Port of Sines, made on an exclusive basis, while the rendering of services concerning waste management services on the port jurisdiction area shall be made under a shared regime.

The following activities and operations, within the Port of Sines’ jurisdiction area, are comprised on the integrated waste management services rendering:

  • Ballast water network management, including the reception and treatment of waste and the ballast water of the vessels berthed or anchored in any area of the Port, as well as Ballast Water Treatment Plant (ETAL) management;

  • Waste management from ships or vessels, including the reception, transport, storage and final disposal, with eventual screening, treatment, recovery and disposal of waste from ships or vessels;

  • Waste management generated in the port’s jurisdiction area, including the reception, transport, storage and final disposal, with eventual screening, treatment, recovery and disposal of waste from the facilities located at the Port of Sines’ jurisdiction area;

  • Management of the rainwater drainage network and pumping stations at the TGLS’ area;

  • Management of waste water drainage networks, including the reception and treatment of domestic waste water from the facilities at the port’s jurisdiction area and the reception and treatment of industrial waste water from the facilities located inside the TGLS’ area;

  • Management of Waste Water Treatment Plants and Pumping Stations at the port’s jurisdiction area;

  • Effluents’ quality control;
